The first TECHQM phone meeting will be held Tuesday, June 3, at the following equivalent times:

  • 6:30-8:00 am Pacific Daylight Time
  • 9:30-11:00 am Eastern Daylight Time
  • 3:30-5:00 pm Geneva Time
  • 10:30pm-12:00 am Tokyo Time

Calling info

Dialup information, including international toll free numbers, is here.

The TECHQM phone call may be heavily attended. In order to make it productive for everyone, we propose the following procedures:

  1. To enable us to keep track of who is on the phone, when you join the conference please send email to the following addresses: pmjacobs@lbl.gov,Urs.Wiedemann@cern.ch,heinz@mps.ohio-state.edu
  2. Please mute your speaker phone unless you are speaking, to minimize background noise
  3. If several people are talking at once, please stop talking for several seconds so that the chairperson can restore order. If you are not recognized by the chairperson within a reasonable interval, please send email to the addresses in item 1.
  4. Skype tends to generate background noise and we discourage its use for the conference. There are toll-free numbers for every country - please use those.
  5. We have been assured that the phone conference number supports many callers but it is possible that a limit may be reached and you cannot join the call. Please send email to the addresses in (i), and try again in 5 minutes.

This is an experiment, and your patience is appreciated. If it does not work well we will look into other mechanisms in the future (such as videoconferencing via EVO, which is used by the LHC experiments).
