December 2008 Offline Tutorial Information

Info for previous tutorial in December 2007

Tutorial sessions in DocDB are 14 Dec and 15 Dec

Room with enough power, wireless, two projectors and speakerphone. Would like to allow for call in to phone conference number.
No coffee.
There will be enough CPU and disk I/O to handle all users on IHEP cluster. Users can login IHEP clusters :lxslc.ihep.ac.cn
Students should add their desired user name to their entry in dbp:December2008Tutorial. Everyone will get a SVN account if add their desired user name to their entry in dbp:December2008Tutorial.
There are 5 workstations for those not bringing laptops.
Become a IHEP Cluster user. Download table (most Chinese, just fill the translated part) and following the instrutions on it. After you fill the table, mail the table to Qiumei: maqm@ihep.ac.cn.
"SVN account" and username to log into IHEP Cluster is different ?? Different or not depends on your choice, but same is better.
- FIXME The username to use in the following command is your 'SVN account' name, *not* your 'username', i.e. guestXX or your own usernames if you are IHEP Cluster users. At the same time you'll need the SVN password which is 'G4', followed by the standard dayabay password.

   svn --username <SVN account> co ${DYBSVN}/tutorial/releases/FIXME

If you need a IHEP cluster account, download http://www.phy.bnl.gov/coop/~tianxc/doc/IHEP_Cluster_Registration_form.doc (most Chinese, just fill the translated part) and following the instrutions on it. Then mail me.

The tutorial will be given using the current NuWa-trunk. If you wish to use your own installation you should install trunk before the meeting.

Presentations should be available for review 11 Dec 08 for the Tutorial workshop

There will be a tutorial dry-run session on 12 Dec 08 8:30-12:00 in A511 at the same time as the Offline tutorial workshop #2

Users can also contact members of the offline group prior to this session for help.
