Tracking detectors:the Silicon Barrel

The design of the barrel micro-vertex detector is based on Monolithic Active Pixel Silicon sensor(MAPS). Due to the requirement of low material budget in the tracking region the best technology available in this moment for this tracking system is the MIMOSA array sensors: a array of pixel completely produced with standard CMOS technology. The design used for the simulation is largely based on the STAR silicon pixel detector (PXL) design realized using the MIMOSA Ultimate pixel sensor.
Every layer is designed as a cylindrical combination of ladders.
