  • Results in RunDB should be sorted by date/time http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~cnipol/rundb/
  • Why do some calibration runs don't have Channel 2 shadowed? http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~cnipol/rundb/index.php?runid=alpha.y2.0106
  • Can the alpha source be moved closer to the center so, we don't have shadowed channels at all?
  • Calibration runs don't have StopTime in raw data. Without it we can't establish the duration of calib runs
  • Neither regular nor calib runs have PolarimeterID info saved in raw data. It is taken from the file name - Not a good idea

  • A question for Igor and Dima:
What is this bump seen at about 80 counts in the alpha calibration data? Calib strip47.png
  • How big is the uncertainty on the attenuation factor? Can we be certain that the factor is the same for all channels?

  • Going through Itaru's scripts realized that in order to create a config file (###.###.config.dat) for a given run one needs to run Asym first. But Asym requires a config file on its own! By default Sym reads run configuration from a config file defined in run.db but this can be overwritten by a command line option -F
  • XXX: Need to change the -n flag in all Itaru's macros and scripts

  • Thinking of the standard set of plots
    • beam + polarization profile
    • correlation ellipses for E_miss and T0

Oct 22, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • Don't forget: Rename EventConfig class to RunConfig (not urgent)
  • Don't forget: implement a number of events to process flag in Asym
  • Do we really need to randomize adc's while converting to energy?

Oct 13, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • For the future analysis: Plot correlation between the dead layer and T0 from the fit

Oct 12, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • Understanding raw data format...

Oct 11, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • Need to understand how to do a calibration run analysis

Oct 8, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • Replaced deprecated headers (iostream and fstream) in all source files in cnipol/src
  • I am getting the following warnings when building the Asym program:
/usr/bin/ld: warning: libstdc++.so.5, needed by /usr/local/cern/root/lib/libCore.so, may conflict with libstdc++.so.6
It might worth installing a new version of ROOT on yellowpc and bluepc
  • It would be nice to try saving data from raw files into root trees. Need to find out if data can be synchronized by tunrs/ticks/revolutions...

  • We should be able to receive automatic notification emails from SVN commits. Very nice feature
    • Confirmed!!!
  • It is not clear why Asym requires a config file with calibration constants from previous runs...
    • XXX Well, it is still not perfectly clear why this functionality is there... But I think the same program (Asym) runs with different arguments, and sometimes you need a config file from a previous run to recover current data??? (Oct 8, 2010 - dsmirnov)

  • Fixed problem with binary tar files in SVN: cnipol/cnilib. Copied these files from yellowpc:~e950/cnipol/cnilib
  • As e950 moved old ~e950/cnipol with CVS data to ~e950/cnipol_cvs_old. Checked out new cnipol from SVN

Oct 5, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • Wouldn't be nice to have a common home area on yellowpc and bluepc?
  • The cnipol code in yellowpc:/home/e950/cnipol/ is older than that in the SVN repository
    • The code on bluepc:~e950/cnipol/ is actually newer that on yellowpc but still looks older that in SVN
    • Sent a question to Kin

Oct 4, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • Added Sasha's code to anacp of the cnipol package
  • Created a top level Makefile
  • Installed SVN on bluepc

Sep, 2010 - dsmirnov

  • Installed SVN on yellowpc
  • This wiki site is now available
