Final Results

Beam polarizations in Run 15. Chi^2_red values are from the ratio of beam and target asymmetries as function of energy (6 bins).

All asymmetries for the beams and the jet target are calculated with the proper-flip (square-root) method in six bins from 1 MeV to 7 MeV. Punch-through hits are removed from the analysis. Asymmetries are calculated for inclusive and signal bunches (abort gaps are not used for the respective opposite jet asymmetries). The asymmetries are then fully background corrected before averaging over inclusive and signal bunches. For the p+p part of Run 15, a weighted mean of the analyzing power is calculated and used to determine the beam polarizations (yellow and blue points in the figure above). The Chi2 distributions for a constant ratio of beam/target asymmetries are included in the figure above.
